Garden Investigators by Olivia Conley

Room One have been investigating their garden by weeding it and having a closer look at the weeds. We have discovered and learnt that the soil might be healthy. Evidence that the soil might be healthy were that there were lots of worms. We have been collecting food scraps from the other class rooms to make compost, to help the soil to get richer . When we pulled out the weeds we discovered that you can eat some weeds. Some of them were very bitter, like dandelion. The photos below are of some of the class pulling out weeds and a student by the borage plant. Borage is good for the garden because it attracts honey bees and other insects. They make honey with blue borage. Next we have to plan what we are going to plant. To be a scientist you need to have a closer look at the world around you.
